Fishing is super boring to me. I’m way too impatient to sit around waiting all day for the possibility of catching fish. Some people find it relaxing but I find it frustrating, time consuming and stressful. Maybe it’s because i’ve never caught anything and because I’ve got zero fishing skillz. Shrimping however is a different story. I LOVE SHRIMPING! I find it a million times more exciting, super fun and easy! My first and only time shrimping was in Taipei a few months ago. I was shrimping like a pro! Probably because the odds are higher since you’re shrimping from a large pool of hungry shrimp which is restocked every half hour. You’re bound to catch something! If I can do it, I’m confident you can too. If you don’t, not to worry. You can buy extra shrimp too.

Shrimp Bait a.k.a. liver.

Shrimp Cannibalism.

Masterbaiting is a vital part of shrimping.

Shrimp Pool.

Bryn getting the nets ready.

Larry waiting for the bite.

A little fly rice while we wait…

Booyah! Eugene caught 2 at once!

Dinner.

Eugene has bad aim game…

I was told shrimp are incapable of feeling pain, but I still didn’t have the balls to skewer the shrimp.

Salting the shrimp!

Larry instructing Eugene.

Baking.

Baked! Nom nom nom!

I asked someone w a relative in Taipei to translate the restaurant name. It’s basically “Wheel Prawn Fishing” (the literal translation of all characters is “Car Wheel Prawn Fishing Place”.) I’d like to try this place if I ever get to Taipei!
